Meet the Team
Scott Kerwin and Anna DeSalvo are a mighty team of two, helping patients through their clinical trials journeys.
Scott Kerwin, RN, MN, CCRC, CCRN is the Director of the Jason Carter Clinical Trials Program (JCCTP). Scott manages the day-to-day operations of the JCCTP, continues to build relationships with industry partners and regularly assists patients in any part of the clinical trial search process.
Scott has over 20 years of experience in critical care, solid organ and bone marrow transplantation, and has a thorough understanding of clinical research. Scott has worked closely with patients, investigators and industry through all steps in the clinical trial process.
He received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Marquette University and completed a Master of Nursing program at the University of Minnesota.
Anna DeSalvo, MS, LCGC is a Patient Education Specialist with the Jason Carter Clinical Trials Program (JCCTP). In addition to keeping the JCCTP clinical trial search tool up-to-date and creating educational content, Anna regularly assists patients in any part of the clinical trial search process.
Before joining the JCCTP, Anna worked in multiple different clinical settings as a certified genetic counselor. During her most reason clinical position, she was part of the oncology care team ordering and interpreting genetic test results in order to choose the most effective treatment options or to prevent cancer from occurring. She also has experience with many different rare genetic conditions, including hemoglobinopathies and inborn errors of metabolism, among others.
Anna received her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY and is a board certified and licensed genetic counselor.
